Bivisha Khadka is a bioinformatics enthusiast who graduated from Kathmandu University, Nepal, with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology. Her academic background has equipped her with a foundation in Molecular biology and Genetics, which she is complementing by expanding her proficiency in Python programming language. She is well versed with working in a Linux environment. During her internship at CMDN, she gained valuable experience in e-DNA analysis, working with various pipelines to process and analyze genetic data. At present, she is actively engaged in conducting phylogenetic analysis, designing primers, metabarcoding data analysis and training interns. Additionally, she has a keen interest in gut microbiome analysis using Bioinformatics, which aligns with her desire to make significant impact in this field.

Barsha has a Bachelor’s in Forestry from the Institute of Forestry, Tribhuvan University, and a Master’s in Bioinformatics from Pokhara University. She has experience in analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data using Linux command-line tools and Python-based pipelines. Barsha has been working as a Bioinformatics Officer at CMDN, since November 2024, contributing to the Bioinformatics Lab team’s ongoing research projects. She has an interest in applying bioinformatics to wildlife genetics and conservation research.
